TREE REMOVAL

Good pruning shouldn't look like pruning.

Pruning is as much about what you leave as what you remove.

Shon considers the structure, health, natural form, and surroundings of each tree before making a cut.

Selective pruning can improve structure, reduce likelihood of failure, create needed clearance, remove dead or problematic growth, and bring greater balance to a tree and the landscape around it.

The goal is not simply a smaller tree. It is a healthier, more beautiful tree that still looks like itself.

Careful removal when a tree can't, or shouldn't, remain.

Sometimes removal is the safest or most responsible choice. A tree may be dead or declining, structurally compromised, poorly located, or creating an unacceptable risk to people or property.

Shon handles removals with particular attention to the surrounding property, including homes, neighboring trees, gardens, fences, and other landscape features.

And because Tree Fellers is intentionally small, the person who evaluates the removal and develops the plan is also the person doing the work.

CORRECTIVE PRUNING

Sometimes a tree needs support, not removal.

Weak unions, co-dominant stems, and large or vulnerable limbs don't necessarily mean a valuable mature tree has to come down.

When appropriate, cabling and other tree-support systems can help reduce stress on vulnerable portions of a tree and improve structural stability.

Shon can evaluate the tree and determine whether a support system, selective pruning, another approach, or removal is the most appropriate course of action.
