AESTHETIC & STRUCTURAL PRUNING
TREE REMOVAL
Good pruning shouldn't look like pruning.
Â
Pruning is as much about what you leave as what you remove.
Shon considers the structure, health, natural form, and surroundings of each tree before making a cut.
Â
Selective pruning can improve structure, reduce likelihood of failure, create needed clearance, remove dead or problematic growth, and bring greater balance to a tree and the landscape around it.
The goal is not simply a smaller tree. It is a healthier, more beautiful tree that still looks like itself.
Careful removal when a tree can't, or shouldn't, remain.
Sometimes removal is the safest or most responsible choice. A tree may be dead or declining, structurally compromised, poorly located, or creating an unacceptable risk to people or property.
Â
Shon handles removals with particular attention to the surrounding property, including homes, neighboring trees, gardens, fences, and other landscape features.
Â
And because Tree Fellers is intentionally small, the person who evaluates the removal and develops the plan is also the person doing the work.
CABLING & TREE SUPPORT
CORRECTIVE PRUNING

Sometimes a tree needs support, not removal.
Weak unions, co-dominant stems, and large or vulnerable limbs don't necessarily mean a valuable mature tree has to come down.
When appropriate, cabling and other tree-support systems can help reduce stress on vulnerable portions of a tree and improve structural stability.
Shon can evaluate the tree and determine whether a support system, selective pruning, another approach, or removal is the most appropriate course of action.

INSURANCE & FIRE-MANDATED TREE WORK
Helping poorly pruned trees find their way back.
Topping, flush cuts, over-thinning, or years of improper pruning can leave trees with compromised structure, unnatural growth, and an appearance that is difficult to correct in a single visit.
Corrective pruning works with the tree as it exists now. Shon takes a measured approach to improving structure, addressing problematic growth, and guiding the tree toward a healthier, more natural form over time.
Not every bad prune can be undone—but thoughtful pruning can often make a meaningful difference.
FRUIT TREE & ORNAMENTAL PRUNING
Addressing what's required without clearing what isn't.
Homeowners in the foothills are increasingly asked to prune or remove specific trees to satisfy insurance requirements, fire-safety inspections, or other property mandates.
Tree Fellers can complete the tree-specific pruning and removal work required while taking a thoughtful approach to the trees that can remain.
We are not a land-clearing or vegetation-management company. Our focus is skilled tree care: addressing the requirement while preserving healthy trees and the character of your property wherever possible.
Smaller trees deserve skilled pruning, too.
Fruit and ornamental trees have different needs from large forest trees. Their structure, flowering and fruiting habits, scale, and role within the landscape all influence how they should be pruned.
Shon provides selective pruning to manage growth, improve structure, address crowded or problematic branches, and maintain an attractive natural form.
The same philosophy applies here as it does to a mature oak or pine: work with the tree rather than forcing it into a shape it doesn't want to be.
